Caroma Dorf has just released a new range of blue toilet seats and flush buttons designed specifically to provide support to Australians living with dementia or vision impairment.

The contrast of a blue seat on a white toilet improves the visibility and perception of the toilet area, making it easier to see and use, and is a great product solution for nursing homes, retirement villages and hospitals.
As people age, vision commonly deteriorate. Colour, however, can be used to differentiate objects and improve basic visual functioning.
Commenting on the new blue Care range, Caroma Dorf Care category manager, Phoebe Bourke says, “It is widely acknowledged in the aged care industry that the vision impaired and people with dementia form a significant proportion of their clientele. Dementia is the largest cause of disability in older Australians and is likely to be the third-largest source of health and aged care spending within two decades. Therefore, the design of the bathroom and other facilities is an important consideration.”
The Caroma Dorf Care range meets AS1428.1 – 2001 requirements for publicly accessible buildings.
