Enriching the entertainment families experience while they visit retail facilities continues to grow as a priority in Australia.

At Eastland shopping centre in Melbourne this week an advanced new family entertainment area was unveiled aimed at lifting engagement and heightening the experience of visitors.

The new entertainment features, designed by Innovative Retail, include recognised children’s play systems, a two-storey climbing net, an interactive digital water curtain, and a soon-to-be-installed slide from the car park to the central hub.

Eastland commissioned Innovative Retail to develop creative installations that invoked a sense of play and discovery through the retail destination, while meeting the key architectural elements of the centre.

“We’ve been working closely with Eastland to produce areas that are about engagement and a heightened experience for the community and young families,” says Innovative Retail chief executive officer Dale Smorgon.

“As play is such an important part of a child’s development we’ve custom designed these new features to encourage creative thinking and interaction, while incorporating all major activities of jumping, running, climbing and sliding.”

Eastland committed to this project to further strengthen the shopping facility as a retail and lifestyle destination in eastern Melbourne.

“With the current evolution of Eastland we are building engaging experiences for a vibrant and evolving urban community,” says Eastland general manager Steve Edgerton.

According to Innovative Retail, families can be assured that health, safety and hygiene is a number one priority as all play areas have been manufactured and maintained at the highest quality.

The play solutions are also fully compliant to the relevant Australian Safety Standards and are certified by an accredited third party safety auditor, Innovative Retail says.
