An industry first has been introduced: a roller blind system that uses an integrated battery powered motor to operate the blind quietly.

Hunter Douglas Commercial has introduced an industry first with Qmotion Roller Blind Technology, a roller blind system that uses an integrated battery powered motor to operate the blind quietly. The blind is operated by remote control or manual pull and the blind does not need to be removed to change the batteries.
“Qmotion Roller Blind Technology is the only motorisation solution that features the batteries inside the roller tube for clean aesthetics, while providing a low-cost motorisation option, as no electrical connections or wiring is needed,” states Jenny Brown, national marketing manager for Hunter Douglas Commercial. “Its unique design features precision ball bearings in each tube to minimise friction, reducing the power needed to raise or lower the shade, thereby making batteries last for up to five years – an industry first.”
