A new uninterrupted power supply system has been launched in Australia.

A new uninterrupted power supply (UPS) system, the Caterpillar Critical Protection Module (CPM), has been launched in Australia by Energy Power Systems Australia (EPSA).
The Caterpillar CPM combines a Cat Flywheel UPS, Cat Diesel Generator and an Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) packaged in a sound attenuated and factory tested ISO standard container. It is designed to provide seamless continuous power in a simple and complete package, delivering constant power protection against surges, sags and power interruptions that can halt operations or cause loss of valuable data or system capacity.
According to EPSA, by itself it only requires a quarter of the floor space of battery-based UPS systems, has a high efficiency and is able to operate at higher temperatures, reducing air-conditioning and electricity costs.
