The Australian customer experience design agency, e2, has been recognised with two major awards for its conceptualisation of the OPSM Eye Hub facility in Melbourne.
The flagship store has been awarded Store Design of the Year at the Oracle Retail Awards, where Luxottica, world leader in eyewear and owner of OPSM, came in first place against finalists Myer and Wedding List Co.
This win follows e2’s recent success at the Asia Pacific Property Awards, where OPSM Eye Hub was chosen to represent the world’s best in retail design at the International Property awards later this year. The win marks a first for Australia, with e2 the first Australian agency to be awarded the top honours.
Facility Management profiled this bold development in depth in our Dec 10-Jan 11 issue, giving the development an overwhelmingly positive review.
Oracle’s store design of year category recognises Australia’s best new store designs, delivering a real customer experience that enhances the brand and are proven to be truly innovative and commercially effective.
Robbie Robertson, co-founder and managing director at e2, says: “It’s certainly a privilege to be recognised by these awards, especially in a sector that is under real competitive pressures. But the proof is in OPSM’s business success, which is what we’re particularly proud of.”
The Oracle Retail World Awards were held last week at the Sydney Convention Centre in conjunction with the Retail World 2011 conference, Australia’s largest executive level retail industry conference. The awards are held annually and aim to recognise, honour and reward excellence within Australia’s retail sector.
