The Victorian government has announced a second round of grants for the $20 million New Energy Jobs Fund (NEJF).

A total of $6 million will be made available in the next NEJF funding round with communities, industry and businesses encouraged to apply before 1 March 2017.

Grants of between $20,000 and $1 million are available to support new energy technology projects that support the uptake of renewable energy, reduce emissions, and assist community groups to develop their own projects.

Close to 100 applications were received in round one with 24 successful projects receiving a total of over $5.8 million in grants. Minister for Energy, Environment and Climate Change Lily D’Ambrosio says she was encouraged by the strong response to the first round. “Victorians are clearly embracing the opportunities that clean energy presents,” she says.

Successful projects from round two will be announced in mid-2017.
